Solar panel cleaning

A professional clean once or twice a year is one of the cheapest, highest-impact things you can do for an existing system.

Why it matters

Why clean your solar panels?

Lost generation adds up

Soiling losses range from 5–25% depending on location, dust, salt air, pollen and bird activity. (ScienceDirect, 2024) A clean is often the simplest, fastest way to restore output.

Don't go up there yourself

Panels carry live DC voltage in daylight, surfaces are slippery, and warranties can be voided by improper cleaning. Leave it to trained, insured technicians.

More than just a wash

Every clean includes a visual inspection: panel damage, hot spots, loose mounting, exposed wiring, and inverter status. We flag anything that needs attention.

Any system, any installer

We clean systems regardless of who installed them, residential or commercial, on-grid or off-grid, single panel array or large rooftop.

How it works

What does a SolKind panel clean include?

  1. Step 01

    On-site assessment

We assess access, panel condition, and any obvious safety risks before starting work.

  2. Step 02

    Soft-brush, deionised-water clean

Deionised water and soft-brush technique that won't scratch panels or leave residue. No harsh chemicals.

  3. Step 03

    Visual inspection

We check for cracks, hot spots, damaged frames or seals, loose racking, exposed wiring and inverter fault lights.

  4. Step 04

    Written report

A short report covering what we cleaned, what we found, and any recommendations - including warranty-impacting issues.

How often

How often should you clean your solar panels?

Most Australian homes benefit from a clean once or twice a year. Twice yearly is typical near the coast, in dusty inland areas, on properties with heavy tree cover, or anywhere with frequent bird activity.

Commercial sites, especially large rooftops near industry, agriculture or unsealed roads, usually warrant a documented twice-yearly schedule with inspection notes for performance reporting.
