Why SolKind

What sets us apart

Built for Australian conditions

Most installers sell whatever their distributor stocks. We went direct to manufacturers and chose products for Australian conditions.

Every system designed from scratch

Your actual energy usage and goals. Not your roof size, not a standard package.

Our SAA-accredited installers nationally

Ready to install and support you, wherever you are.

ENERGY INDEPENDENCE

Independence isn't a feature. It's the point.

Most homes are completely dependent on the grid. Every unit you use is bought at whatever rate your retailer decides to charge. Solar changes the production side. A battery changes the equation entirely.

The grid sets the price

Every kilowatt-hour from the grid is bought at whatever rate your retailer decides. When you generate your own, that rate stops mattering.

You decide when to use it

A battery shifts your energy to when you actually need it. Peak tariffs, evening loads, outages. The grid stops dictating.

The grid becomes a backup

Not a lifeline. You're connected because it's useful, not because you're stuck.

AND THEN SOME

Your roof can pay you back.

With the right setup, your system doesn't just save money. It makes it. Feed surplus power back to the grid during peak times and your roof becomes an income stream, not just an expense reduction. Independence is the floor. What you do above that is up to you.

Sound familiar?

Most homeowners come to SolKind for one of these reasons

You don't need to know anything about solar to start. You just need to recognise one of these.

Your electricity bill keeps climbing

Australian households pay some of the highest power prices in the world, and the trajectory isn't improving. At some point the maths tips in favour of generating your own. Source: AEMC

You just got an EV, or you're about to

An EV can double a household's electricity usage overnight. If your solar was designed before the car, it was designed for a different life.

Your neighbour just got solar

If they have solar and you don't, you're paying grid rates while they generate their own power. The economics are real.

You've had a quote, but something felt off

If a salesperson gave you a number without looking at your bills, or sized the system from your roof rather than your usage, get a second opinion.

You're building or renovating

The best time to design a solar system is before the roof goes on, not after. Once it's done, everything becomes a compromise.

You've heard the battery rebate is ending

It's not ending, but it is reducing. The federal program runs to 2030, but the discount steps down every six months from May 2026.

Our process

How does SolKind design a home solar system?

SolKind starts with a discovery conversation before designing anything. We ask about your energy use, lifestyle, appliances, and long-term plans. We then engineer the right solution for your specific situation. We never start with a quote.

  1. Step 01

    Discovery conversation

Before designing anything, SolKind asks about your energy usage, appliances, lifestyle, and long-term plans, including EVs, pools, and any planned changes.

  2. Step 02

    System design

SolKind designs a system sized for your actual usage and roof, checked against real usage data. We never size for roof space alone.

  3. Step 03

    Expert installation

Our SAA-accredited installers complete the installation, typically in one day. Every system is fully documented and commissioned before handover.

  4. Step 04

    Long-term support

SolKind provides performance and product guarantees, backed by our SAA-accredited installer teams nationally.

Rebates

What rebates are available for homeowners?

Most Australian homeowners qualify for federal STCs that directly reduce upfront costs. Some states offer additional battery rebates and interest-free or low-interest loan programs. Eligibility and amounts vary by state and change regularly.

Federal STCs

Value steps down each year. Deducted directly from your quote upfront.

State battery rebates

Some states still have battery-specific programs. We identify every one you're eligible for.

Interest-free loans

ACT offers zero-interest loans up to $15,000. WA offers zero-interest loans up to $10,000. NSW offers interest-free loans up to $15,000 through the Home Energy Saver Program, which replaced Empowering Homes in June 2026. Victoria's interest-free battery loan program has closed. Check current eligibility at energy.gov.au.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions from homeowners

It depends - and anyone giving you a number without seeing your situation should be treated with caution.

The honest answer is: it depends. Anyone who gives you a number without understanding your situation first should be treated with caution. The main variables are system size (driven by your usage, not your roof), panel and inverter quality, battery inclusion, roof complexity, and switchboard condition. Federal STCs reduce the upfront cost for most systems, deducted directly from your quote. We provide a fixed-price proposal with no hidden costs after a discovery conversation where we understand what your home actually needs.
