For businesses

Kinder energy for your business

We engineer commercial solar and battery systems for high-demand operations across Australia. Every project starts with a full energy review.

A significant majority of Australian commercial rooftops remain solar-free, representing unrealised cost-saving potential. (Clean Energy Council, cleanenergycouncil.org.au)

Sound familiar?

Most businesses come to SolKind for one of these reasons

You don't need to have done the analysis already. Just recognise the situation.

Energy is your second or third biggest cost

For warehouses, manufacturers, cold storage, and retail, energy can run to hundreds of thousands annually. A well-designed system can significantly cut daytime grid consumption, depending on your load profile and operating hours.

You have roof space doing nothing

A large roof that faces roughly north, east, or west is a financial asset that isn't working. Most commercial rooftops can support solar.

Your board or investors want a sustainability story

Rooftop solar is one of the most visible and measurable sustainability actions available. It also delivers direct financial return.

You're expanding, and your energy costs will grow with it

New machinery, more staff, longer hours. The right time to design a larger system is before the load increases, not after.

You've received a quote that didn't feel rigorous

If someone quoted you a system without analysing 12 months of interval data and your tariff structure, you don't have a real proposal. You have a brochure with numbers on it.

Your tenant or landlord needs a green building rating

Solar is often the single most impactful upgrade for achieving a NABERS or Green Star rating.

Commercial process

How does SolKind approach a commercial solar project?

SolKind conducts a full energy review before designing any commercial system. We analyse load profiles, tariff structures, and peak demand patterns, then engineer a solution that delivers measurable ROI, not just reduced energy bills.

  1. Step 01

    Full energy review

SolKind reviews 12 months of interval data, maps the load profile, and identifies peak demand periods before designing any system.

  2. Step 02

    Conservative ROI modelling

SolKind models base-case, upside, and downside scenarios with all assumptions documented, so decision-makers can interrogate the numbers.

  3. Step 03

    Engineering and installation

SolKind handles structural engineering, grid connection, protection systems, network operator approval, and compliance documentation.

  4. Step 04

    Performance monitoring

Most inverters include monitoring apps that show real-time generation and consumption data. SolKind advises on how to read and act on your system's monitoring data, and conducts performance reviews on request.

Financial incentives

What financial incentives are available for commercial solar in Australia?

Australian businesses can access federal STCs, instant asset write-offs, Large-scale Generation Certificates (LGCs) for larger systems, and various state commercial programs.

Federal STCs

Available on commercial systems up to 100kW. Deducted from your installation cost upfront.

Depreciation

Solar is a depreciating asset. Eligible small businesses can immediately deduct individual assets costing less than the instant asset write-off threshold, currently $20,000. Most commercial systems cost more and are depreciated through the small business pool instead. Speak to your accountant.

Large-scale Generation Certificates

Systems above 100kW may generate LGCs: tradeable certificates that offset costs or generate revenue.

Commercial FAQ

Frequently asked questions from business customers

Anyone who gives you a number without seeing your site should be treated with caution.

Commercial solar pricing varies significantly depending on your actual energy usage, roof type, structural requirements, switchboard condition, network connection complexity, and component quality. What we can tell you is that federal STCs reduce upfront costs for systems under 100kW, and depreciation deductions reduce the effective after-tax cost to your business. We model the full cost, including site-specific extras, as part of your energy review. You know exactly what you're paying and why before you commit to anything.
